Typing Emoji

Typefinity lets you type emoji in two different ways without needing to change to another screen and hunt around.  The first way is to type an emoticon directly, like :) for 🙂 or B) for 😎.  All of these shortcuts are listed below.

The second way is to enter '/' or ':' and then a word related to the emoji.  For instance /smile (or :smile) will give you 🙂 , /sunglasses (or just /sung) will give you 😎 , and /bike for 🚲.

You should use words in the language you have the keyboard currently set for.  So, for instance if using one of the French layouts, then, /sourire – 🙂 , /lunettes – 😎 , /vélo – 🚲.

Tip: If you already have another emoji keyboard you like (from a third party or Apple's built-in one), you can also access it quite easily if you add it to your keyboard list in Settings | General | Keyboard | Keyboards and remove all other options besides Typefinity. Then, when typing, a single tap of the Globe key will bring you to the emoji keyboard, and a single tap of "ABC" will bring you back.
