We built a prototype for the iPhone, but it was clear that it needed some refinement to meet the standard set by the iPad version. We launched a Kickstarter campaign to gauge interest, to obtain funds to support the development, and to gather a community of beta users to guide us.

However, the poor results of that campaign indicated that either the idea is not a good one, or that we are not capable of presenting and marketing it to the right audience to generate sufficient interest. With regrets, we’ll have to shut down this effort for now. We will continue to focus on making PadKeys the best keyboard available on the iPad.

Good news: we now have a prototype version up and running on the iPhone! However, we don’t feel that it’s good enough yet to release. PadKeys is among the best and highest quality keyboards available on the iPad, and we want the iPhone version to meet the same standard. So we’ve launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to fund final development and also build our beta user base for feedback on the usability and design.

We are working on this, but our early experiments show the layout needs work, even on iPhone 6 sized screens, to be comfortably usable. Let alone iPhone 4 and 5, which we also must support. We will send out a beta once there is something worth trying out.
