Add setting option to disable forward-delete key
On the Settings window, add a toggle control that determines whether the forward-delete key is enabled or disabled. That will allow those of us who use PadKeys primarily in Safari to keep it from freezing everything if we accidentally tap that key (which happens with disturbing regularity in my neck of the woods), while retaining the abiliy to turn it back on in safer environments.
I agree this is annoying, but Apple really should fix this bug rather than us doing gymnastics around it. Let’s see if iOS 9.3 can manage it.
UPDATE: Due to continuing inaction by Apple, we have implemented a work-around in version 2.2 at a small cost to the functionality. The delete key now operates somewhat more slowly and does not repeat on hold. But Safari hanging is largely prevented.

Ah, the standard keyboard analogy is a good argument. We will be considering this, thanks.

Check out “Unicode Pro”, which has a highly customizable keyboard layout that lets you do all sorts of things in terms of making unicode characters available.
That said, the standard keyboard, with its [.?123] key that's positioned in the lower right corner, is the one that got me in the habit of tapping that corner when I want to go to an alternative set of keys.

Yes, I understand the request was for switching the positions of the lower-leftmost two keys. I was just curious what other software keyboards provide an alt/opt/whatever-you-want-to-call-it key, since I thought PadKeys was just about the only one. It might help us to be able to look at some of these (even if they aren't on iOS) to see how they handle the ergonomics. Thanks!

Sorry; I don't know what terminology you use. What I mean by “alt-keys” is the keyboard layout that you access when you press the key marked with a “⌥” symbol. If you would trade the positions of the ⌥ and ⌦ keys, I'd be less prone to hit ⌦ by mistake.

Which digital keyboards are these that have an alt key?

Moving the key away from the lower left corner would be greatly appreciated. I'm in the habit of tapping the lower left corner to get to the alt-keys, due to that being the default position for Alt on digital keyboards, which is why I accidentally tap the forward-delete key on Keypad with such distressing regularity.
